The MTE, START Company is among Ukraine’s foremost manufacturers of the artistic furnace (‘hutta’) glass. Its production was set up in 1988 as a private business, and has, since its inception, remained under the same ownership status and scope of its activity. A continuous round-the-clock manufacturing process is employed. Ever since operations began, production has only stopped for routine repairs and reconstruction.

Today, The Start Company produces decorative glass pieces: vases, plates, cake stands, bottles, candle-holders, etc. Each individual item is handmade and mouthblown, and created in a variety of colours and patterns. All our products are manufactured for export only, mainly to Western Europe, Asia and America. 12 years of sales in the European market has enabled our company to gain vast experience and a solid and dependable reputation. We are proud to see that examples of our work are displayed in New York’s Museum of Modern Art.

Throughout the years the plant has put into commercial production in the region of one thousand different types of handmade glass pieces. Today, the plant is focused on production of the following handmade items:
• decorative vases for flowers and table décor,
• decorative plates,
• candle-holders,
• wineglasses and glasses of various/varying sizes and shapes,
• light diffusers for domestic and commercial use.

Our products are blown in clear glass, and also in a wide spectrum of colours available in a transparent, non-transparent and/or opaque form. The products are manufactured to individual drawings or samples as presented by the customer. All our products are environmentally sound and user-friendly.
